He wanted to bring his management theory, and the topic of his award winning book Principles, to a larger audience. The full ask would include an expansive branding campaign aimed at advertising Ray’s selected works across an array of social media platforms. THE WORK On multiple social media platforms, and using a variety of graphic, animated and filmed pieces, we built a visual and personal brand for Ray Dalio. Built via the game making tool Twine in combination with HTML, Javascript &amp; CSS code, and featuring 90s era point-and-touch video game aesthetics; SLUURM was created from scratch to help people communicate and socialize at any distance. The NYC CEC was created in accordance with a citywide voting referendum passed in 2019. With a goal towards getting New Yorkers more involved with the institutions that shape their daily lives and rights. CIVIC ENGAGEMENT WORK In order to introduce NYC residents to the CEC, while informing them about upcoming events and programs, a variety of media was created to speak to NYC residents via an array of social media platforms. Taking advantage of an advanced controller setup, Hyper Tongue X was developed so that players could play a video game with a sensory appendage not often utilized for the task. In theory this type of gaming setup could be used by individuals unable to play video games via other conventional methods, allowing them greater access to entertainment and gaming experiences. HOW IT WORKSThe tongue based controller for Hyper Tongue X utilizes a malleable electrode array, attached to a Cthulu Shield sensory device, which is in turn connected to an Arduino Microcontroller. This controller setup is then plugged into a computer via USB cable. When the surface of the player’s tongue makes contact with the electrodes on the malleable array, inputs are sent to the Cthulu Shield device and are converted into key strokes by the Arduino Microcontroller that the computer can recognize. The end result is a video game controller which sends information via the tongue. THE CONCEPT In the game players control a gigantic tongue and attempt to navigate a world filled with all types of food. Some of the food in Hyper Tongue X is beneficial and nutritious, other foods are bland and artificial, and a few foods are so gross that they will try to destroy your tongue. &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The combined virtual space held within video games has grown far beyond that of our physical environment. Within these virtual spaces users by the millions engage with each other in a vast network of distinct virtual communities. Though verbal communication is the norm in physical spaces, within the virtual space such communication is not always assured. Nonverbal communication in the virtual space of video games is critical to expressing a variety of thoughts and feelings via digital means.&nbsp; In the physical world our various means of gesticulation are unlimited, but in the virtual world; game design prescribes and controls how communications are expressed. Despite the restrictions of digital design, nonverbal communication in the virtual realm has evolved into a complexly choreographed cultural dance that beckons endless exploration.
